Grey Pea Fritters!

Ingredients

Ingredients (for 4 servings): For the Fritters:
  • 200 g cooked Dimdiņi grey peas
  • 2 onions
  • 1 L milk
  • 2 eggs
  • 50 g breadcrumbs
  • 500 ml oil (for deep-frying)
  • Pinch of salt, pepper
For the Sauce:
  • 100 g sour cream or plain yogurt
  • ½ teaspoon mustard
  • Pinch of caraway seeds
  • Pinch of salt, pepper

Preparation:

  1. Boil the peas in milk for 8-10 minutes to revive them.
  2. Sauté finely chopped onions in oil over medium heat.
  3. Mash the peas with the onions, one egg, salt, and pepper to taste.
  4. Form into balls, coat in egg and breadcrumbs. Place in the freezer for 10 minutes.
  5. Deep-fry in hot oil and drain.
  6. For the sauce, mix sour cream with caraway seeds, mustard, and salt.
  7. Serve the balls with the sauce.
