How to Sort and Recycle Our Product Packaging

Proper packaging recycling and waste sorting help reduce environmental impact and support more sustainable waste management.

How to Sort and Recycle Our Product Packaging

Follow these simple steps to dispose of Dimdiņi product packaging responsibly.

How to Sort Your Packaging Correctly

  1. Identify the packaging: Find the corresponding packaging type or component in the table (e.g., Bottle, Cap, Outer Film, or Packaging Film).
  1. Check the packaging material code: Compare the material identification code listed in the table (e.g., PET 01, PP 05, PAP) with the recycling symbol or material code printed on the product packaging.
  1. Separate packaging components: If the packaging consists of different materials (such as a bottle and its cap or a container and its label), separate the components before disposal, where possible.
  1. Choose the correct waste container: Follow the instructions in the “Waste Container Type” column to ensure proper waste sorting and disposal.

🟡 Yellow Container – Plastic and Metal Recycling: Recyclable plastic and metal packaging.

🔵 Blue Container – Paper and Cardboard Recycling: Clean and dry paper and cardboard packaging.

⬛ Grey Container – General Household Waste: Non-recyclable packaging materials, including certain composite and multi-layer packaging.

Why Can’t Some Packaging Materials Be Recycled?

Some of our product packaging, such as multi-layer laminated films, is specially designed to provide effective protection against oxygen and moisture. These protective barrier properties are essential for maintaining product freshness, quality, and food safety throughout its shelf life.
However, current recycling technologies and facilities cannot always effectively separate the different layers of these composite packaging materials.

For this reason, we ask you to dispose of non-recyclable multi-layer packaging in the general household waste container rather than the plastic recycling container. This helps prevent contamination of recyclable materials and supports a more efficient recycling process.
At Dimdiņi, we believe that responsible packaging disposal and sustainable waste management are important steps towards reducing our environmental impact.
