• Our story

We know that only by taking care of what we have can we preserve the best of it and create something new.

We at “Dimdiņi” combine respect for tradition with a modern perspective to create clean, healthy, and delicious food.

There may be easier ways to work the land, grow vegetables, and harvest crops, but we believe that only by acting responsibly can we ensure consistently high quality.

  • It may be easier to think of food in much simpler terms, but we believe that what we eat matters a great deal.

We work diligently to preserve the best qualities of every vegetable.

For many people, it’s easier to stick to what they’re used to, but we believe that every generation and era has its own tastes, which is why we constantly keep up with global trends to offer what’s most relevant today.

It may seem easier to use ready-made products, but we believe that you enjoy cooking and that Dimdiņu products can be a source of inspiration for a delicious meal.

About us

SIA Dimdiņi is one of the largest vegetable growing and processing companies in the Baltic states. Since 1992. year it has specialized in growing cabbage. Cabbage, Chinese cabbage, and kale are grown on approximately 150 hectares of land.

  • The cabbage we grow ourselves is processed into sauerkraut, stewed cabbage, and marinated cabbage salad.

As it expands its product range and export volumes, Dimdiņi also offers its customers a variety of vegetable salads, such as beets with mayonnaise, steamed beets, Korean-style salads, and more, as well as cooked beans and peas. The company is constantly evolving, so developing new products is part of our daily routine, allowing us to offer customers an ever-growing selection of new “Dimdiņi” products.

  • Since 1992. year the company has been conducting research in the Baltic states and selecting the best cabbage varieties.

The experience we have gained over the years guarantees high quality from seed to finished product. Full traceability is confirmed by the international GLOBAL G.A.P. certification and the BRC (Global Standard for Food Safety) certification obtained in 2015.

Our products have been awarded the “Green Spoon” label under the national food quality scheme, which attests to their high quality. All products are made in Latvia and contain no GMOs or synthetic colorants.

  • Our cabbage is grown using integrated production methods. The entire production process is carried out in accordance with HACCP and BRC quality standards.

The company also grows and processes certified organic products.

Mission is to produce natural, healthy, and nutrient-rich food products!

Most of our products have been awarded the “Natural Product” quality label, and the corresponding symbol appears on the packaging. The “Dimdiņi” brand is well-known and popular not only in Latvia but also beyond its borders.

Our History

  • 1926

    „Dimdiņi“ dibināšana

The newly established, independent Latvia allocates land for the establishment of private farms. Jānis Lūsis and his family establish a farm on 16.16 hectares of land in Lizuma Parish and name it “Dimdiņi.”

  • 1930

    The farm’s early years

The farm specializes in grain farming, livestock raising, and fruit growing. Jānis Lūsis, a tree lover, planted trees of various species that still delight the Dimdiņi family today.

  • 1949

    Nationalization during the Soviet era

During the Soviet era, the farm was nationalized. The house and farm building built by Lūšu family have survived to this day.

  • 1991

    Property Restitution

When Latvia regained its independence, Erna Lūse-Jančevska, the daughter, reclaimed her parents’ estate as their sole heir.

  • 1992

    The Second Founding of “Dimdiņi”

The “Dimdiņi” farm is being revived as a vegetable-growing operation run by the Audziši family, a group of young, certified agronomists and horticulturists. The inheritance also includes the recipe for braised “Dimdiņkāpostu.”

  • 1998

    Candy production facility

Thanks to the Audziš family’s experience in producing “Gotiņa” candies, the Lizuma Gotiņa candy factory is being purchased.

  • 2008

    Modern production line

A high-performance production line is being implemented, enabling the packaging of all types of products in convenient and modern packaging.

  • Today

    200 hectares of land

Today, the Dimdiņi family farms 200 hectares of land, where they grow cabbage, Chinese cabbage, and kale. Skābētie kāposti joprojām ir saimniecības lepnums.

  • Acknowledgments

“We are grateful for this place, our brand, and the kind wishes Aunt Erna has given us.” Patriotism, national pride, and a love for her work and for people were her core values. Aunt Erna and our parents have helped us, as young and enthusiastic beginners, to understand the value of this land and the satisfaction it brings. We would like to express our gratitude to our parents, who have been with us from the very beginning and who have taught us both how to grow cabbage and how to make “Gotiņa” candies. From them, we draw strength and learn their amazing strength and endurance in work!”
